  • Kalie Granier is a French interdisciplinary artist currently residing in Santa Cruz*, California. Her artistic practice lies at the nexus of time, blending the past, present, and future while weaving connections between the spiritual and the earthly realms, human experiences, and the non-human world, ancestral stories, and contemporary narratives. She delves into the intricate relationships among environments, ecosystems, and the human body within the context of our contemporary geological era.

Operating at the intersection of art, science, and activism, Kalie collaborates closely with scientists, environmentalists, and Indigenous communities. Her work is deeply rooted in ecological consciousness, reflected in her creative process spanning mediums like video, installation, upcycling local natural materials from beaches, and utilizing raw pigments in earth-based painting. Guided by emotions as her compass, Kalie embarks on a journey toward regenerative togetherness.

Beyond her artistic pursuits, Kalie co-founded Loud Spring, a European-American Art Tank/Collective registered as a 501(c)(3) organization in San Francisco/Oakland, creating cultural happenings that are locally rooted, globally minded, and centered on radical imagination.

Kalie holds a Master of Arts (MA) degree from ESAG, Penninghen School of Visual Art in Paris. Her work has been showcased in galleries and museums across the United States, Europe, and Argentina, and she frequently delivers lectures at institutions, including UCSC, San Diego University, Santa Clara University, etc.

*Santa Cruz occupies the unceded territory of the Awaswas-speaking Uypi Tribe.
