The Realm of Underwater Forest
is a site-specific installation
at Saint Joseph’s Arts Foundation
in Collaboration with Villa Albertine San Francisco.
Curated by Aimée Le Duc
This installation is a culmination of over three years of meticulously collected materials from the beaches. Each strand of kelp has been reinforced at its most delicate points with recycled wool ribbons. This piece serves as a narrative about our interdependence and interconnection with the kelp forest, where 90% of this ecosystem in California has been lost or damaged.
